NGCF awards largest number of scholarships ever

The Gainesville-based North Georgia Community Foundation (NGCF) awarded the largest number of scholarships in its history this year – 269 of them totaling $559,400 for students around Georgia.

The Scholarship Program is is made possible through the generosity and support of individuals, families, organizations, and companies, foundation officials say. The scholarships go to graduating high school seniors, current college students and non-traditional students.

NGCF administers over 70 scholarship funds that each have their own specific criteria; applications are reviewed anonymously, and awards range from $500-$15,000.

Megan Martin, Vice President of Marketing & Development at NGCF, expressed her appreciation for the fundholders of these scholarships, stating, “I am thankful for the passion and dedication our fundholders have to fostering educational opportunities for students. Their generosity and investment cultivate a community that values education, philanthropy, and the pursuit of excellence.”
