The Gainesville-based North Georgia Community Foundation (NGCF) opens its 2026 Scholarship Application Cycle today which includes six new or enhanced scholarships. It will remain open through March 2.
NGCF NEWS RELEASE:
“Through the generosity of local individuals, families, businesses, and organizations, NGCF
administers over 80 scholarship funds designed to benefit students from a variety of backgrounds,
academic interests, and life stages. Scholarships are primarily accessed through NGCF’s online
application system, which allows students to complete one application and be matched with
opportunities they qualify for.
During the most recent scholarship cycle, NGCF awarded 327 scholarships totaling $822,950,
supporting graduating high school seniors, current college students, and non-traditional students
pursuing higher education.
Several new and enhanced scholarship opportunities will be available during the 2026 cycle,
including:
Audrey Davenport Scholarship – Supports a non-traditional Black/African American female
student attending a college or university in Georgia.
Ryan B. Joiner Memorial Scholarship – Honors the legacy of Ryan B. Joiner by supporting
rising juniors and seniors pursuing degrees in social work or mental health-related fields.
Jayne McCurdy Bennett Scholarship for Math Education – Created to encourage future math
educators from Wayne County High School or Tattnall County High School.
Chantal and Tommy Bagwell Family Scholarship – Established to support eligible students in
Forsyth County.
Rotary Club of Forsyth County: Service Above Self Presidents’ Scholarship – Supports Forsyth
County students in the spirit of service and leadership.
Russell and Sandra Davis Scholarship Fund – Recently updated from a one-time award to a
renewable scholarship providing support for graduating seniors or GED recipients residing in
Hall County, Gwinnett County, or DeKalb County.
Scholarship funds reflect the values, legacies, and passions of those who established them or
whom they honor. Eligibility criteria and award amounts vary by scholarship. More information
