Newtown to host meeting on planned Social Security changes

Even though the White House now says that the Georgia Social Security offices in Georgia, including the one in Gainesville that had been targeted a few weeks ago for closing, will remain open, Gainesville’s Newtown Florist Club is going ahead with a community forum on Social Securitiy.

The civil rights and environmental justice organization’s Facebook page, as late as Saturday morning, showed the club’s Voter Engagement and Education Project will host a meeting Monday night at 6:00 at Bethel AME Church on Paying Attention to Social Security Cuts.
