Not only does Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) have a new President & CEO, but there is a new Vice President on board as well.
A healthcare executive with deep roots in the region who has vast experience at all levels, from the front lines as a registered nurse through administrative leadership, has joined NGHS ‘s Georgia Heart Institute.
Haley Harrison is serving as the institute’s Vice President, with oversight of the heart and vascular service lines of Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS).
Harrison most recently served as executive director of Piedmont Heart with oversight of inpatient, outpatient and ambulatory care; operations; and strategy across all cardiovascular services for Piedmont Healthcare. She also previously served as chief nursing officer at Piedmont Walton Hospital and as director of physician operations for Piedmont Heart.
Joining the NGHS family is a homecoming of sorts, as she previously worked with NGHS as a clinical simulation nurse educator after starting her career as a registered nurse providing emergency care.
Matt Hanley, MD, took over as President & CEO April 1, replacing the retiring Carol Burrell.
