New Presiding Juvenile Court Judge named for the Gville-based Judicial Circuit

Judge Alison Toller is stepping down from her administrative duties as Presiding Juvenile Court Judge of the Northeastern Judicial Circuit, as she prepares to assume the role of President of the Georgia Council of Juvenile Court Judges (CJCJ).

The circuit’s Superior Court Judges have named Judge Amanda Dean as Presiding Juvenile Court Judge, effective Tuesday.

“Judge Dean’s more than twenty years of experience working in juvenile courts throughout North Georgia made her the right choice to take up the mantle as the next Presiding Juvenile Court Judge of the Northeastern Judicial Circuit,” said Chief Superior Court Judge Jason Deal. The Northeastern Judicial Circuit is comprised of Hall and Dawson counties.

Judge Toller will continue to serve as a Juvenile Court Judge within the circuit and preside over Hall County Family Treatment Court in addition to state-wide leadership roles in the CJCJ and the Council of Accountability Court Judges.

The Superior Court Judges have subsequently designated Judge Amanda Dean as Presiding Juvenile Court Judge, effective July 15, 2025. “Judge Dean’s more than twenty years of experience working in juvenile courts throughout North Georgia made her the right choice to take up the mantle as the next Presiding Juvenile Court Judge of the Northeastern Judicial Circuit,” said Judge Deal. The Northeastern Judicial Circuit is comprised of both Hall and Dawson counties.
