A Forsyth County man who was arrested in April and charged with stealing close to a million dollars from his South Hall employer has had additional charges in the case lodged against him.
The new charges were filed against Michael Chad Evans over the weekend, according to Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) spokesman Derrick Booth. They are four counts of unauthorized use of financial transaction cards.
Authorities said at the time of the 46-year-old Evans’ arrest in April he was charged with one count of theft by conversion and 36 counts of unauthorized use of a financial transaction card. Investigators said then they believed the total theft amount could reach more than $700,000.
