N. Hall wreck victim ID’d; Banks Co. wreck victim still not identified

The North Hall man killed in a Tuesday afternoon traffic accident in White County has been identified as Brian Wallace, 51, Clermont.

STATE PATROL NARRATIVE:

“(About 1:00) a trooper from the Gainesville Post of the Georgia State Patrol responded to SR 11/U.S. 129, in the area of Albert Reid Rd, to investigate a traffic crash. 

Upon arrival, the investigating Trooper determined a 2017 Kia Forte was traveling south on SR 11. The driver, Julia Robinson, 41, of Gainesville, was accompanied by Brian Wallace…as the front seat passenger.

Ms. Robinson was driving distracted when she crossed the centerline and entered the northbound traffic lane. Ms. Robinson struck a northbound 2020 Toyota Corolla, driven by Malani Zavala, 26, of Cleveland, head-on.  A 2013 Lexus ES, driven by Marilyn Frye, 69, of Cleveland, was traveling northbound behind the Corolla, and struck it in the rear after the collision between the Corolla and the Forte.

Despite extensive life-saving efforts, Mr. Wallace was pronounced deceased on scene. Ms. Robinson, Ms. Zavala, and Ms. Frye were all transported by White County EMS to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

All three vehicles sustained disabling damage.  SR 11 was shut down for approximately 3 hours for the crash investigation and cleanup…

Charges are pending at this time.”

EARLIER STORY. POSTED 11:00 TUESDAY NIGHT: A North Hall man was killed in a traffic accident in White County Tuesday afternoon. The wreck happened on U.S. 129 near Albert Reid Road, according to the state patrol. The man’s name was not immediately released but troopers say he was a passenger in one of the vehicles involved in the three-vehicle crash which occurred about 1:00.

Meanwhile, the driver who died in a fiery crash Sunday night in Banks County remained unidentified at mid-morning Wednesday.

STATE PATROL NARRATIVE:

(…at approximately 6:00…a Trooper responded to a single vehicle fatal crash on Rock Springs Road…  A 1997 Dodge 1500 was traveling east on Rock Springs Road negotiating a curve.  For an unknown reason, the driver failed to maintain his lane and traveled off the roadway and struck a tree.  After impact, the vehicle caught fire with the driver inside. The identity of the driver is unknown currently.”
