A fox that came in contact with an individual recently in the 5500 block of Clarks Bridge Road was rabid, Hall County officials said Wednesday.
The fox was shipped to the Georgia Public Health Lab—Virology Section in Decatur where tests revealed it had rabies.
Positive alert signs will be posted in the area where the rabid animal was located. If you live in this area or you see an animal acting abnormally in the area, contact Hall County Animal Services at 770-531-6830, or during non-working hours, call Hall County Dispatch at 770-536-8812.
There was no information on the age, gender or condition of the person who came in contact with the animal.
As always, Hall County Animal Control advises animal owners to have their domesticated pets vaccinated by a veterinarian or the Hall County Animal Shelter.
