*The Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office has one person in custody after a body was found in Habersham County early Thursday. The discovery was made after Rockdale authorities notified the Habersham sheriff’s office that it had information that a body of the victim of a murder they were investigating might be located in the Carpenter’s Cove Lane area in Cornelia. No other information was immediately available pending an update from Rockdale County.
*One person was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville after an accidental shooting Wednesday morning in the Amy’s Creek community near Clarkesville. Habersham County authorities say the wound was non-life threatening.
*Property crimes investigators with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office have levied additional charges against two teens implicated in a series of vehicle break-ins in the Gillsville area this past weekend. Both Isaac Ayala, 19, and Armando Luna, 18, face four more counts of entering auto. Two of the crimes occurred on Turning Leaf Drive, one occurred on Horseshoe Bend, and one occurred on Saddle Creek Drive. Investigators believe the break-ins happened between 12 a.m. and 8 a.m. Sunday. In addition, Ayala has been charged with felony theft by receiving because he was driving a stolen 2007 GMS Acadia at the time of the criminal incidents, a sheriff’s office spokeswoman said.
