The state patrol said Friday morning the motorist who led a state trooper on a high-speed chase south of Gainesville Wednesday night that resulted in the death of another motorist faces murder and several other charges. He’s also been identified as Daniel Thomas Davis, 35, Jefferson.
“…he is facing charges of murder, felony fleeing or attempting to elude, Driving Under the Influence, theft by taking-motor vehicle, suspended license, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and several other traffic charges,” said patrol spokesperson Courtney Lund.
Lund also identified the driver of the vehicle struck by Davis as Agustin Rivera, 50, Gainesville.
Davis is being held without bond.
