*A Maryland man has been arrested after allegedly making threats against Georgia Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene. DC’s U.S. Attorney’s Office announced the arrest of Edgewater, Maryland resident Seth Jason. The former Voice of America employee allegedly called Greene’s congressional offices in Georgia and threatened the congresswoman, her staff and her family. Eight calls were placed over 15 months from phone lines connected to Voice of America operations. He faces four charges, including two counts of trying to influence a federal official using a threat.
*A Georgia man is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from a woman while posing as a Social Security employee. Police in Michigan began the investigation earlier this year after the suspect convinced the woman there was a warrant out for her arrest and someone was using her social security number. He ended up swindling her out of 110 thousand dollars. Investigators tracked the suspect down to Georgia in late June.
*A Gilmer County man, Ronald Richardson, has been indicted on 44 additional counts of sexual exploitation of children after allegedly using artificial intelligence to create explicit images from ordinary photographs. The new charges bring the total to 120 counts, representing over 100 alleged victims in and out of state. Richardson was initially arrested in January and has remained in custody since. The DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office has taken over the case, and the investigation into Richardson is ongoing. He is expected to be arraigned on the updated charges.
