Motorist free on bond following chase involving Gainesville police

A 38-year-old man is free on bonds totaling $4,699 after being arrested on a number of charges after police say he fled when an officer tried to stop him for a traffic violaltion.

Ismael Diaz-Santos was arrested Tuesday afternoon by Gainesville police. He’s charged with:

* FLEEING OR ATTEMPTING TO ELUDE

* NO PROOF OF MINIMUM INSURANCE

* LICENSE – DRIVING WHILE UNLICENSED OR EXPIRED

* OBEDIENCE TO REQUIRED TRAFFIC-CONTROL DEVICES

* WINDSHIELDS/FRONT WINDOW TINT  

“Officer attempted to stop subject for minor traffic infraction, subject fled in vehicle,” police spokesman Kevin Holbrook wrote in an email. “Subject was taken into custody at his residence without incident.”

A spokeswoman for the Hall County Sheriff’s Office says Diaz-Santos was released Wednesday night.
