Motorcyclist seriously injured in Winder Hwy. crash

It happened Thursday night and the Georgia State Patrol (GSP) released details of the accident Friday night.

GSP NARRATIVE:

“On November 9, at approximately 6:30 p.m., a Trooper responded to the area of SR 53 (Winder Hwy) and Martin Rd in Hall County for a motor vehicle collision.

The investigation showed a Yamaha YZFR6 motorcycle, driven by Quamier Billings, 19, of Bethlehem, was traveling north on SR 53 in a reckless manner, weaving in and out of traffic.  A Toyota Tacoma, driven by Bethany Noland, 16, of Braselton, was turning left from SR 53 south as Billings was passing traffic at a high rate of speed.

The motorcycle struck the passenger side rear of the Tacoma, causing the truck to overturn onto its driver’s side.  The motorcycle also overturned, and Billings separated from the bike.

Noland and her 12-year-old brother were unable to remove themselves from the overturned vehicle.  After being extricated from the truck, both occupants were transported from the scene as a precaution while Billings was transported for treatment of serious injuries.

Billings will be charged with reckless driving.”
