A Gainesville man was cited for DUI and other traffic offenses following a motorcycle crash that left him with serious injuries.
Just before 2 a.m. Monda deputies with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) were dispatched to the scene of what was initially reported as gunshots in the area of Horseshoe Bend off Gillsville Highway, HCSO spokeswoman B.J. Williams said Wednesday morning. “In fact, the noise reported by neighbors was the sound of a motorcycle crashing into a mailbox and a parked vehicle in the neighborhood,” Williams said. “When deputies arrived, they found Hirvin Israel Zamora, 27, in the back seat of a vehicle parked in front of a residence. He was suffering from serious injuries to his legs.”
As deputies waited on an ambulance to arrive, they continued their investigation into the vehicle crash and located the damaged motorcycle in the back yard of the residence. Additional investigation led deputies to issue citations for Zamora for DUI, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to maintain lane.
Zamora was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
