Motorcyclist escapes serious injury in S. Hall crash; ends up in jail

The state patrol Monday released details of a New Year’s Eve accident in South Hall involving a motorcycle and a car and says there were no serious injuries. It happened at mid-afternoon at Frazer Road and Atlanta Highway.

STATE PATROL NARRATIVE:

“Vehicle #1 (the motorcycle) was traveling east on Frazer Rd. Vehicle #2 was traveling west on Frazer Rd. Driver #2 stopped at the stop sign on Frazer Rd and turned left onto SR 13 (Atlanta Hwy).

Driver #1 failed to yield after stopping at the stop sign on Frazer Rd and attempted to travel across SR 13 (Atlanta Hwy). Vehicle #1 struck vehicle #2 on the front with its left side.

After impact, driver #1 fell off his motorcycle and struck the ground. The area of impact was at the intersection of Frazer Rd and SR 13 (Atlanta Hwy). Driver #1 was not at the
scene of the accident (when the investigating state trooper arrived).

Driver #2 stated that driver #1 left the scene. Driver #1 was located by (a Hall County sheriff’s deputy. (A sheriff’s office spokesman says he was picked up at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Braselton on warrants issued by the state patrol and taken to the Hall County Jail.)

Driver #2 has footage of the accident. Driver #2 arrived at her stop sign before driver #1 arrived at his stop sign.

Vehicle #1 did not have a license plate.”

The motorcyclist, 34-year-old Devane Raymond Mills of Flowery Branch, is charged with Probation Violation, Having the Wrong Class of Driver’s License, Unsafe Tire Conditions, Expired Tag, Hit-and-Run, and Failure to Stop at Stop Sign. He is being held without bond.
