We may be in for another bumpy ride, weatherwise, this weekend – just two weekends removed from a storm system that spawned tornadoes, flooding, etc. But the weather service says, right now, it doesn’t look like this round of stormy weather will be a potent as that one.
“There is a Slight Risk (level 2 out of 5) for severe storms across northwest Georgia, mainly during the Sunday night into early Monday morning time frame,” a social media post from the agency says. “There is a Marginal Risk (level 1 out of 5) farther south and east of the Slight Risk area. Gainesville and vicinity are included in it. (Green are on accompanying map.) #gawx
Details:
Straight-line winds will be the primary hazard, with a relatively low threat of brief tornados and hail.
There is potential for severe weather for the remainder of Monday, but there is uncertainty regarding the evolution of the line of storms as it tracks eastward across the state.
Overall forecast confidence will increase later today and on Saturday, so stay tuned for updates!”
