More springlike weather, then a return to reality

Springlike weather, with some record highs possible, is expected to continue in the Gainesville area and most of Georgia until late in the weekend, the weather service says.

Daytime highs in the upper 60s and low 70s and nighttime low in the 50s and 60s will dominate things until Friday night. That’s when a cold front, accompanied by showers and possibly thunderstorms, will move through the state with more rain and cool temperatures Saturday.

Sunday will dawn with sunny skies with highs in the 40s and lows in the upper 20s. That’s expected to be the case for the following two or three days.
