Moratorium proposed on some residential development in Habersham

The Habersham County Commission is expected to consider a moratorium on some residential development when it meets Monday.

The agenda for the meeting includes a resolution enacting a “limited” moratorium on the acceptance of applications for preliminary plat approval for developments of five lots or more. It also would impose a moratorium on rezonings for Residential Single Family (LI-R), Residential Multi-Family (MI-R), and Planned Development (PD) land use districts.

This follows similar action in recent months by commissioners in Hall and Forsyth counties.
