Moratorium fallout: Two subdivision requests pulled from HCPC agenda

The agenda for Tuesday’s Hall County Planning Commission (HCPC) is shorter than it was just a few days ago. Why? Because of the six-month moratorium on certain residential developments approved Thursday by the county commission.

A revised agenda for the meeting notes that rezoning and variance and special use requests for an 80-lot subdivision on Ben Parks Road and a 266-unit residential development on Friendship Road now includes this notation for each: “Following the Board of Commissioners’ decision on August 28,
2025 to enact a 180-day suspension on high-density residential rezoning, this application is
considered withdrawn.”
