The Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Accident Investigation Unit (AIU) is investigating a Tuesday night hit-and-run accident that caused serious injuries to a moped rider near Gainesville.
HCSO NEWS RELEASE:
Deputies responded to the call on Limestone Parkway at Wildwood Circle at approximately 9:10 p.m., where a moped had been hit by a car. The unknown car driver drove away from the scene. Deputies contacted AIU after learning the moped operator, Jerrett Albert Peltier, 52, of Gainesville, suffered traumatic injuries. Hall County Fire Rescue transported Peltier to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville for treatment.
According to the initial AIU investigation, Peltier was northbound on Limestone Parkway when he was hit
from behind by what witnesses described as a 2007-14 Ford Mustang. Deputies and investigators canvassed the area but did not locate the car, which they believe continued north on Limestone Parkway and then north on…Cleveland Highway.
