Building permits issued by the city of Gainesville in April totaled 202 for work expected to cost $19.2 million.
That includes 27 for new single-family housing valued at $9.3 million. In all, there were 77 residential permits approved for construction work of all kinds valued at $11.3 million.
There were also 107 commercial permits approved for $7.8 million worth of projects, including five for new projects with a $2.8 million price tag.
