Minimal change in drought data

Things remain virtually unchanged in the U.S. Drought Monitor’s (USDM) latest report on the drought in Georgia with most of northeast Georgia, including Hall County, among the areas where the drought continues to linger.

All or parts of 15 counties in our corner of the state are still suffering from “abnormally dry” conditions. East central and parts of southeast Georgia are in the same boat.

All total, 71 percent of the state is drought-free compared to 72 percent a week ago.

The level of Lake Lanier, meanwhile, is unchanged – holding at 1072.0 for the second straight week.
