A 51-year-old man authorities say was not wearing a seatbelt was killed in a Tuesday overnight crash in South Hall. It was the second time this month that a Hall County wreck has claimed the life of a motorist who was not buckled in.
HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE (HCSO) NARRATIVE:
“The Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Accident Investigation Unit (AIU) investigated an early
Wednesday morning…accident that claimed the life of a Gainesville man.
Investigators identified the victim of the single-vehicle wreck as Jason Jeffery Jones, 51. Jones was
the driver and sole occupant of the 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe…
Deputies responded to the accident on Tanners Mill Road near Tanners Mill Circle at approximately
12:05 a.m. and located the overturned SUV. Jones had died in the wreck. Deputies notified AIU
investigators who responded to the scene.
According to the initial investigation by AIU, Jones was driving north on Tanners Mill Road when his
vehicle crossed the southbound lane and went into the grass. The SUV then traveled across three
driveways and hit a culvert, causing it to turn over onto its top…
Tanners Mill Road was closed for approximately one hour.”
