Two of three people arrested following a police chase on I-985 early Sunday morning remained in the Hall County Jail Tuesday morning.
HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE NARRATIVE:
Just before 2:45 a.m., a Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputy was in the area of Lanier Parkway (I-985) and Wade Orr Road conducting speed enforcement when he checked a vehicle traveling in the northbound lanes of the interstate at 95 mph.
The deputy followed the speeding vehicle and observed the driver, later identified as Christopher Anthony Sigler, 22, of Forest Park, weaving between lanes of travel. Mr. Sigler exited the interstate at the Exit 20 northbound ramp (Candler Highway), running the red light at the end of the ramp. The deputy terminated the pursuit with the use of a PIT maneuver. Mr. Sigler’s vehicle crashed in a ditch.
Three passengers in the vehicle were treated at the scene for minor injuries. Mr. Sigler was transported to the hospital for evaluation; he was released later in the morning and transported to the Hall County Jail.
Christopher Sigler (pictured) was arrested and charged with the following offenses:
- Fleeing or attempting to elude (felony)
- Speeding
- Reckless driving
- Failure to maintain lane
- DUI
- Open container violation
- Failure to obey traffic control device
- Seatbelt violation
- Driving without a license
- Possession of less than an ounce of marijuana
Mr. Sigler also had a warrant from the East Point Police Department. He’s being held on bonds totaling $9,600.
Leondre Jamar Adam Sigler, 24, of Gainesville, a passenger in the vehicle, was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by convicted felon and seatbelt violation. He had a warrant from the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office. His bond has been set at $7,000.
Quincy Morgan, 21, of Gainesville, a passenger in the vehicle, was charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. Mr. Morgan has been released from custody.
A fourth occupant of the vehicle was not charged with any crime. He was released from the scene.”
