Marijuana, other drugs seized in White Co.

Earlier this week, White County Sheriff’s deputies and investigators were conducting concentrated patrols along a stretch of Ga. 75. A traffic stop was initiated on a vehicle for a traffic violation.

During the course of the traffic stop, approximately one and half (1.5) ounces of marijuana was located along with eight (8) grams of psilocybin mushrooms and several oxycodone pills, according to a sheriff’s office news release. A search warrant was obtained and ultimately executed on a residence in Cleveland.

“During the execution of the search warrant,” according to the news release, which was issued Thursday, “Investigators and Deputies located an additional seven (7) ounces of marijuana, seventy- seven (77) oxycodone pills, thirty-five (35) tramadol pills, and twenty-seven (27) MDMA tabs.” An undisclosed amount of cash was also seized.

Two people were arrested as a result of the investigation and charged with several counts each of possession of drugs with intent to distribute.

They are Greylin D. Cheek, 38, and Elizabeth T. Smith, 37, both of Cleveland.
