March in Gville was 3.9 degrees warmer than usual

Temperatures through the month of March in Gainesville were nearly four degrees above normal for the month, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

The March Climate Summary shows the average was 56.8 or 3.9 degrees above average. That’s the biggest departure from normal of any of the nine reporting stations under the NWS Peachtree City office umbrella. Macon came closet of any of them to have normal readings. It was only half-a-degree above normal.

Precipitation in Gainesville through the month was 2.5 inches below normal, the highest of any of the stations. And only Macon showed a surplus of rain for March, half-an-inch.

For the area covered in this report as a whole, March was two-three degrees above average and rainfall one-to-two inches above average.
