Many government offices will be closed Monday

Monday is Veterans Day and that means many government offices will be closed.

Hall County’s administrative offices, courts, community centers, animal shelter, recycling center, landfill and libraries, as well as the Hall County Government Family Health Center will not be open. Compactor sites, the UGA Extension Office, and essential public safety and public works personnel will continue services as normal on the holiday.

As always, many County services are available at any time online at hallcounty.org.

CITY OF GAINESVILLE

All Administrative offices will be closed, including those at the:

  • Gainesville Administration Building
  • Gainesville Community and Economic Development Building
  • Gainesville Public Safety Complex (Gainesville Police Department + Gainesville Fire Department)
  • Gainesville Water Resources Building (Queen City Parkway)
  • Gainesville Civic Center (Gainesville Parks & Recreation), etc.
  • Gainesville-Hall County Community Service Center, including:
  • Meals on Wheels
  • Senior Life Center
  • Fingerprinting services

In addition, no garbage or recycling will be picked up. All customers, regardless of their regular pickup day, should hold their garbage and recycling until the following day. For example, customers with an assigned collection day of Wednesday should hold their garbage and recycling until Thursday, etc.

The WeGo transportation system will not operate.

There will be no mail delivery and post office window service will not be available and other federal offices will be closed. State offices will be closed, as well.
