Man who escaped custody while at hospital last month arrested

A man who had been taken to the Gainesville hospital following his arrest last month but left the hospital a day later was arrested over the weekend.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) says Chaurice Ke’Thomas Millsap, 24, of Gainesville, was wanted locally for giving false information to police and escape when he was arrested without incident Sunday after being spotted in a car on Floyd Road.

HCSO NARRATIVE:

“The warrants for Millsap’s arrest were issued last month after an HCSO Warrant Service Unit deputy arrested Millsap on an outstanding Barrow County warrant for failure to register as a sex offender.

During the arrest process on Jan. 11, Millsap lied to the deputy about his identity. As Millsap was being transported to jail, he suffered a seizure, so he was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville for treatment.

Millsap fled the hospital on foot on Jan. 12 and had been at large until his arrest over the weekend.

Millsap remains in the Hall County Jail.”
