A 26-year-old man now living in Gainesville who was a fugitive from south Georgia is now residing in the Hall County Jail. The sheriff’s office released details Monday on the arrest of Juan Daniel Hernandez on drug charges last week following a traffic stop.
HCSO NARRATIVE:
“Around 11:20 p.m. Wednesday…on Browns Bridge Road, a Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) patrol deputy stopped a passenger vehicle after the tag alerted that the registered owner had an active arrest warrant out of Dublin, Georgia.
The deputy followed the vehicle into the parking lot of the Xtreme Clean car wash and activated the blue lights on the patrol vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver (Hernandez) and identified him as the person with the active warrant.
While the deputy was talking with the Hernandez, she detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. When a second deputy arrived at the scene, they conducted a search of the vehicle and located a bag of marijuana and a scale in the trunk.
The total amount of marijuana was 68 grams; street value was estimated at $1,360.”
Hernandez is being held without bond.
