Acting on tip, the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) recently arrested a fugitive from Hall and Dawson counties at house in Toccoa.
Deputies say they found Calvin McCoy, 30, hiding in the ventilation system in the house on Oak Valley Road.
McCoy, who was also wanted in Stephens County and has a long criminal record, had fled a rehabilitation center in Gainesville.
Following his arrest Tuesday, he was charged by Stephens County authorities with three counts of probation violation, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and obstruction of law enforcement officers.
