A Clermont man wanted for two hit-and-run incidents that occurred in northern Hall County Monday was arrested Tuesday night at his home.
The first was reported just after 6:30 p.m. Monday by a Clermont resident who told a Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputy that his vehicle was hit in the parking lot of a convenience store in the 5900 block of Cleveland Highway. The at-fault driver left the scene after the collision. The victim was able to provide the deputy with a cell phone video of the gray Dodge Ram pickup involved in the incident. The driver of the truck was also visible in the video.
“About 20 minutes after the first call, the deputy was dispatched to investigate a vehicle that had been involved in a crash in the 6200 block of Hulsey Road,” sheriff’s office spokeswoman B.J. Williams said. “The deputy found an abandoned gray Dodge Ram pickup that had left the roadway, striking a tree and a fence. The truck was the same vehicle involved in the earlier hit and run. The property owner was able to give a description of the driver to the deputy.”
Based on the investigation at both scenes, the deputy was able to identify the offender as Robert Marcus Dunahoo, 41, of Clermont, Williams added. “Mr. Dunahoo was charged with two misdemeanor offenses – duty to report striking an unattended vehicle and duty to report striking a fix object. His bond is $260.”
