Man hit by MARTA train; Family reunion shootout; Atlanta pending home sales down; Another USPS death

*No word so far on the fate of a man who was hit by a MARTA train Saturday morning at the Civic Center station. It happened about 10:30. Cellphone video obtained by ANF-TV seems to show a man trying to get off the tracks before the train hits him.  It’s the latest in a rash of recent MARTA incidents of late, including a deadly stabbing, a shooting and a woman hit by a train.  

*A man is facing charges after allegedly opening fire on a family reunion in Leesburg. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office says Jeffrey Kinzer left the gathering after an argument, then returned armed with an AR-15 and wearing body armor. Deputies say Kinzer opened fire, injuring one person and damaging several vehicles before gunfire was returned. Kinzer was later arrested on an aggravated assault charge, though authorities say additional charges are likely.  
 
*Pending home sales in metro Atlanta dropped by about 14% from April to May, attributed to rising inflation and ongoing conflict in the Middle East. The Atlanta Business Chronicle reports economists point to factors like inflation and the possibility of a Federal Reserve interest rate hike as contributing to the slowdown.

*Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-Ga.) is demanding answers from the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) following the fourth employee death at the Palmetto distribution facility in two years. Fox 5 Atlanta reports Ossoff has sent a formal letter to the Postmaster General seeking a full accounting of workplace safety standards by June 26. The facility has been under scrutiny for its management struggles and lack of emergency communication channels for staff.
