Gville woman named to UNG Foundation Board; Lumpkin Co. farm recognized

*Lumpkin County’s White Family Farm Barn was recently presented with a 2023 Georgia Centennial Farm Award. The Centennial Farm Program was created in 1993 to recognize historic Georgia farms that have been in continuous operation for over 100 years. A farm must have been continuously owned and operated by the same family for a minimum of 100 years to be eligible for the Centennial Farm Award, or the farm itself is at least 100 years old and be officially listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Additionally, each farm must be a working farm that has retained a minimum of ten acres of the original family purchase and must generate at least $1,000 annual income.
