Loss of Oakwood warehouse to ICE would be a $771k blow to local governments, HCSD

Oakwood City Manager B.R. White says loss of the Oakwood warehouse where ICE plans to locate a detention/process facility would mean a $771,000 loss of tax revenue to local governments and the Hall County School District (HCSD). White issued the numbers Thursday, saying he was “just keep y’all in the loop.”

 Below is the revised property tax loss, according to White. “The estimates are based on the FMV (Fair Market Value) purchase price of facility. Revised tax estimates based on FMV sales of the property at $68,162,500. The 40% taxable value of the property is $27,265,000.”
