Lumpkin County Sheriff Stacy Jarrard says his office has partnered with the Georgia Emergency Communications Authority (GECA) to create the Logan’s Law database, something Hall and Habersham counties already have.
The feature helps 911 operators alert and inform first responders “for the sake of being more compassionate” before being dispatched to situations.
Sheriff Jarrard is encouraging Lumpkin Countians to register any individual at their home who has special needs. The database will be established from responses to this request.
“In an emergency, safety is always a primary concern,” he added in encouraging participation.
You can find a registration form on the sheriff’s office website.
In addition to Hall and Habersham, counties in Georgia already offering the service include Cobb (Marietta) and Glynn (Brunswick).
