Local officials are wasting no time in forging ahead with plans for a Transportation Special Local Option Sales Tax (TSPLOST) for Hall County.
The Gainesville City Council, Hall County Board of Commissioners and representatives of other municipalities in the county plan to meet Friday at noon at the county government center to discuss scheduling a referendum on the proposal.
The way was finally cleared for such a vote, which would likely be held in November, a few days ago when Gov. Brian Kemp signed legislation authorizing it. That bill had passed the General Assembly earlier this year.
