*Expect extra traffic on the streets and roads in Gainesville Monday and especially around schools. It’s the first day of the new school year. Classes resumed in the county last Friday.
*UPDATE – The victim of that fatal wreck on Lake Russell Road in Habersham County Saturday was Aaron Matthew Hopkins, 52, Demorest. The state patrol says Hopkins, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died when his car left the road in a curve, plunged down an embankment, and struck a tree.
