Legislation targets home buying; It isn’t much, but…; 4-yr-old shoots self; Trump vs. MTG, again

*State lawmakers are considering legislation that limits the number of homes owned by big companies in Georgia. The proposal caps the number at 500 homes and eliminates their tax incentives. This comes as WSB-TV reports that around 30 percent of Georgia’s rental homes are owned by companies, which, for some first-time homebuyers, are pricing them out.  

*Georgia Power has proposed a plan to lower customer rates, potentially reducing monthly bills by $1.32 a month. The company is working with the Georgia Public Service Commission, which will vote on the plan on May 28. If approved, customers may see changes by June.  

*A four-year-old boy accidentally shoots himself in the finger on Wednesday morning. According to Gwinnett County Police, his injuries were non-life-threatening, and he was taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta for medical treatment. WSB-TV reports that the mother confirmed the child discovered the gun in the car console.

*President Trump has again labeled former Georgia congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Green and one-time ardent Trump supporter a “traitor.” Trump comment aboard Air Force One recently when asked about today’s planned visit to Rome, in the heart of the Congressional district once represented by Green. Greene reacted by saying being labeled a traitor by Trump “has become a badge of honor” for not being “in his cult” and refusing to cover up the Jeffrey Epstein files.
