Justin Kyle Ferguson, 41, of Clarkesville was booked at the Habersham County Detention Center on Friday morning.
He is charged by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation with one count of theft by taking and one count of violation of oath of office.
Ferguson was released on a $4,000 bond.
The brief statement from the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office did not say what agency he is with and directed further questions to the GBI which has thusfar provided no additional information.
