The search was continuing in Lake Lanier Monday morning for a man who disappeared over the weekend.
Georgia Department of Natural Resources (GDNR) spokesman Mark McKinnon said Monday there was nothing new to report – only that the searchers were back on the water.
McKinnon said Sunday the 27-year-old disappeared Saturday while swimming from a boat in the Van Pugh Park area. “(He) went under and did not resurface,” McKinnon said.
This followed an incident earlier on Saturday in which a 61-year-old Stone Mountain man, Tracey Stewart, drowned while swimming near East Bank Park.
