*The lunchroom staff at Sardis Elementary School has been awarded the Georgia Department of Education School Nutrition Division’s 2023 Cafeteria Award of Excellence.
*Ana Lugo, a Lyman Hall Elementary School parent, has been selected to serve on the Parent’s Advisory Council for State Superintendent, Dr. Richard Woods. The group provides input on new policies, projects, and materials that impact students and their families, according to a Hall County schools news release.
*The city of Gainesville is hosting a car seat safety check Friday from 10:00-1:00, in partnership with the Gainesville Police Department and Safe Kids Northeast Georgia. The drive-thru check, held rain or shine, will take place at Gainesville Fire Station No. 1, 725 Pine Street.
