Kroger will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony and community celebration Friday at 9:00 to unveil renovations at the New Holland Market Kroger. The renovation represents a $1.5 million capital investment, according to a company spokeswoman.
“This is not just a capital investment; it is an investment in the community and the people we serve,” said Tammie Young-Ennaemba, head of communications and public affairs for Kroger’s Atlanta Division.
The renovation includes a new floral department, a new Murray’s Cheese shop, updated dairy, bakery, produce, meat, seafood and Kitchen Place departments, and additional interior infrastructure improvements.
As part of the celebration, Kroger will honor its Partners in Education: New Holland Elementary, Gainesville Middle, and Lakeview Academy High School as well as its Zero Hunger | Zero Waste partner, the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
“In keeping with Kroger’s Zero Hunger | Zero Waste commitment, our contractors and partners diverted 96% of construction waste from landfills during the renovation project,” Young-Ennaemba said.
Friday’s event will be followed in the next few weeks by the opening of a new Kroger Marketplace in South Hall, on Mundy Mill Road in Oakwood. New Oakwood Kroger just weeks away from opening
