*A Saturday vote in the State Senate delays a deadline on ballot QR codes. The deadline to remove QR codes from ballots was July 1 — now it’s two years away. The bill does, however, go to the State House, where lawmakers could make changes.

*Meanwhile, a House session Saturday on property tax relief ended in an impasse. A debate so heated it ended with House Speaker Jon Burns issuing a stern warning to legislators as he tried to keep order in the chamber. The Republican plan is to reduce property taxes and make up the lost revenue via sales taxes. But Democrats, such as Carolyn Hugley, say that shifts the burden unfairly, that the bill would increase the overall tax burden on low- and middle-income Georgians.

*An Atlanta non-profit organization, I am a Father First, is helping fathers in the city’s jail celebrate Father’s Day.  It has paid the bail for several fathers in order to reunite them with their families. Fox 5 Atlanta reports the founder, Keith Lewis, started the organization to provide family resources and partnered with other father-centered groups to raise bail money.
