Kennesaw and pot; Airport car theft ring busted; Stormy Ga. coast

*Kennesaw city leaders are considering a plan to decriminalize possession of one ounce or less of marijuana, reducing fines and jail time for low-level offenses. Fox 5 reports that this move reflects a trend in Georgia municipalities to reconsider enforcement of minor marijuana offenses, as the state remains one of the most restrictive in the U.S. regarding marijuana laws. At least 13 other cities and 3 counties in Georgia have already passed similar decriminalization measures to reduce penalties for small amounts of marijuana.  

*Three suspects are facing charges for car thefts at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. The trio is being accused of lifting as many as 50-cars from airport parking lots since February. The investigation revealed the thieves may be using a tool to program universal keys in order to steal the cars. More suspects are thought to be involved.  

*Residents around Savannah may be dealing with flood damage from Thursday storms. Nearly five-thousand homes in south Georgia were without power last night after strong storms pushed up into the Carolinas. Nearly 20 roads in Savannah and Port Wentworth flooded enough to impact travel. Severe storms are possible across the state again today, while temperatures start climbing to a triple-digit heat index by the end of the weekend.
