*GBI is accusing a former payroll specialist in Troup County of embezzling over five-hundred thousand dollars. Wesleigh Gaddy was arrested last May. Court documents reveal a sheriff’s deputy had reported last April a discrepancy in his paycheck. Investigators found deposit slips made out in the deputy’s name for funds he never received. The missing money dates back two years. Authorities say “misappropriating public funds is a betrayal of the public trust” and all will be held accountable.
