Jackson Co. forms Corrections Tactical Squad

The Jackson County Correctional Institute (JCCI) has a newly formed Corrections Tactical Squad.

“We’re excited to see this elite team come together, and we have no doubt that under the leadership of Warden Minix and Deputy Warden Tatum, you’ll be equipped with the knowledge, training, and discipline to excel,” says a posting on the county’s Facebook page.

The squad’s mission, county officials say, “likely involves maintaining order and security” in the prison.

“They may be trained to handle high-risk situations, such as riots, cell extractions, or transporting high-profile inmates.”

They added that the squad’s role is “crucial” in ensuring the safety of both the corrections staff and the inmates.
