The announcement that it was going to happen came two months ago – and now it’s a “done deal”: Gainesville’s first craft brewery has closed.
The owners made the announcement in a social media posting a couple of days ago:
“To all of our wonderful friends, families, and fans, we just want to express our thanks for the opportunity, over the last eight years, to share with you our passion and creativity through our unique craft beers, ciders and seltzers,” it reads. “Not only were we the first craft brewery in Gainesville, but we also brought to the community various events and experiences that were also among several firsts for the area. We enjoyed being the pioneers, opening many doors for others to follow and continue to build and grow the vibrancy and diversity in the local area.”
The brewery was located in the old Chicopee Manufacturing complex on Atlanta Highway.
“Whether you refer to us as Left Nut Brewing (the organization’s original name) or Liquid Nation Brewing, we thank you all for your patronage, support, and most of all your friendship over these last several years. We will miss serving you,” the message concluded. “Cheers!”
The announcement that the brewery was shutting down this year came May 16. EARLIER STORY: Gville’s 1st brewery closing after 8 years (wgtjradio.com)
