Internet provider apologizes for salesman’s tactics following complaint to LCSO

A complaint to the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) about an aggressive door-to-door salesman has led to his dismissal and an apology from the company he represented.

“A few residents have called about an individual that has had aggressive behavior while attempting to sell internet service with Kinetic Windstream,” Sheriff Stacy Jarrard wrote in a Facebook post.”I reached out to Windstream and determined that this was a 3rd party contractor for them and they have terminated his engagement with their company.”  “See below for a statement from Blake Fields, the Georgia Director of Windstream Kinetic.

In response, Blake Fields, the Georgia Director of Windstream Kinetic, thanked Jarrard for calling this to the company’s attention and issued an apology to those who had come in contact with the individual.

“We’re grateful this was reported, and we apologize for what occurred. The behavior reported by community residents of this individual is unacceptable and violates Kinetic’s standards. This individual is an employee of a third-party contractor. We notified his employer earlier today, September 3, 2025 and terminated his engagement with us. He is no longer authorized to work on behalf of our company. We are cooperating fully with local law enforcement.”
