Inland port 95% complete

Construction on the Blue Ridge Connector (Gainesville’s inland port) is now 95 percent complete, according to the Georgia Ports Authority (GPA).

“Georgia Ports’ latest addition to its inland rail network will open for operation later this year,” according to a recent GPA news release. “The seven all-electric rubber tire gantry cranes that will serve Georgia Ports’ Blue Ridge Connector inland terminal have been assembled and tested using generators. They will be fully commissioned in February after electrical service is completed to the facility.”
