UPDATE: Injured GHS baseball player in a coma

The Gainesville City School System provided new information on what happened earlier this week while also identifying the player in this FACEBOOK POST:

“On behalf of the family we release the name of the student injured Monday, November 20th at 1:20 pm at Gainesville High School.

Jeremy Medina, a senior at Gainesville High School and a pitcher and catcher for the 2022 baseball team, was accidentally struck in the head by a baseball bat while at the batting cage on campus.

Medina remains in a coma at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Jeremy and his family are firm believers in Jesus Christ and His redemptive love, and are requesting prayer during this extremely difficult time.”
